University of Ottawa Mont Petite Gym Maintenance Program
Project Team :
Bryden Gibson Architects - Prime Consultant
Description :
To support the short and long term planning the University of Ottawa commissioned Bryden Gibson Architects to develop a holistic 10-year maintenance plan that is updated annually.
The annual report reviews the existing conditions within the building including structural, mechanical and electrical systems. The reports are reviewed with the stakeholders and subdivide into annual implementation plans. Each year during the maintenance shut down the work in the annual implementation plan is completed.
The work to be completed is not complex however degree of project complexity lies in short work periods and the variety of work to be completed simultaneously. The sports facility shuts down for one week, the pool shut down varies and is usually a couple of weeks. All work typically must be completed in that time period although some work has been able to coordinate around occupied spaces.
Some of the work completed to date includes:
Repairs to the diving tower and replacement pool racing blocks.
Pool deck tile and substrate repairs.
Replacement of Dectron pool dehumidifier.
Replacement of gym floors.
Replacement of Saunas
